Does the map software that comes with the PN-60W allow the user to upload or create lines and/or shapes? Does it recognize ARC based mapping layers such as .shp files, etc?

Hello Cory,

The PN60W package we sell does not include the GIS software to do ESRI shape files. The Delorme maps are great for the USA and alright in Canada. They have a little work here to do with their topo maps but I still recommend the product if you need something that will work better as a map making GPS. I also recommend it if you need the SPOT module.

In the software you can create polygons, lines, and points via the Draw layer for viewing on the GPS. They also have subscriptions to satellite imagery, NTS raster mapping and more for Canada.

You can get the Xmap 7 GIS direct from Delorme at this time if ESRI shape support is a must.

Cheers
Jordan
