Could you comment on whether getting a 550 with US Topo/DVD extra would be more advisable than purchasing a 550T with the maps installed? Is there a difference in the quality of maps or usability?

Hello Anne,

Yes the maps on DVD are newer and contain a lot more information. We do not recommend the preloaded map. Also you get more functionality because you can use the software on your PC.
