Hello Gil,

Garmin was unable to tell us what chip is in the Etrex 30. The mentioned the specs have not been released yet. Please check back with us when the unit or the specifications have been released from Garmin. It is safe to assume that it will be high sensitivity. The exact chipset will be hopefully known at a later date.

wondering what computer processor is used, does it suffer from lag when using custom maps like the other etrex series, i'm worried that it wont have the processing power for the birds eye maps and the 24k maps. Very strange that we dont have processing specs to compare the different models.

Garmin does not provide that information. The unit will have plenty of processing power to do custom and Garmin mapping.
