These sound like very similar devices with similar features. What is the main selling point of one over the other?

I need to get new device for a hunting trip in early october and wanted to get familiar with it before hand. The 30 ships in mid sept if I understand correctly.

Thanks

Touch screen on the Dakota vs the joystick/buttons on the etrex. I would highly suggest the Dakota for your trip for it will have less issues. Sometimes units have some hickups when they first come out. Also the touch screen is much easier to use, especially when you are entering data like a waypoint name.

If you are in dense trees when hunting a GPSMap 62S will have the best GPS reception in that case.

Cheers
