Reply #3: Sep 25, 2012, 10:31am The RAM-B-231U stainless steel version will be the one that you would want to use in and around a salt water environment.
The stainless steel will be less likely to corrode than the zinc plated u-bolt.

There is no advantage of the Zinc one over the stainless steel one?

Reply #5: Sep 26, 2012, 7:14am The zinc plated mount is good, just not as good as the stainless steel mount when used in a marine application.
The zinc plated mount comes with an extra u-bolt that will fit 1.25 inch bars.
