My windshield mounting brackets use the mirror housings to attach to my scooter. Is it possible to replace the bolt in the base with a longer one? My mirrors are mounted on a tab on the windshield mounts and I don't really want to have one of my mirrors sticking out even farther.

Also what is the thread size of the bolt since motorcycle mirrors can come with 8mm or 10mm threads.

If you dont like the way it holds you may want to investigate the RAM-B-252 and RAM-B-272. They may be an option for you because your mirror will not stick out. Links below

The RAM-B-360 (twist n tilt) comes with various M8 and M10 bolts. The exact list is in the install manual below.
