hi there, i currently use a RAM-111U for my lowrance hds5 on my sailing kayak/trimaran. it is a sturdy mound but unfortunately the arm isnt quite long enough to keep my knees from hitting it.
i'm interested in either the RAM Mount Plastic 1.5'' Socket Extended Arm with 12'' Pipe or possibly RAM-201D 9" LONG with RAM-KNOB5LU.
i need to raise my gps/fishfinder and have it tilted outboard so? my knees do not impact the unit when i'm paddling my hobie adventure island.
would these configurations work? i believe the lowrance hds5 is under 5lb
if you can suggest a configuration that would give longer arm with different configurations i would be most grateful.
thank you very much. i am available my email at firsttimeflying@yahoo.com

The RAP-201-V12U should be sturdy enough for your application.
Using a dab of ABS cement between the pipe and the RAP-276U connector ends will keep those pieces together and provide a more secure mount.
