I purchased in October for a trip to Europe in December for a month. I downloaded to GPS Garmin Map 62S. Yesterday got an update and downloaded to 62s. Also have a recent purchase of a NUVI 1250 that accepts micro sd card and when tried it in Nuvi 1250 got a message pop up saying "unable to unlock" map. I would like to take both units on trip ie for purpose of turn by turn instruction provided by Nuvi 1250 absent in Garmin 60s. Is there any way to unlock this as own both Garmin units, duly registered with Garmin for personal use only. Other programs such as Kapersky Internet security program for example allow to place program on maximum of three computers which seems fair. Any ideas, suggestions as to procedure to make it work on more than one registered Garmin unit? Thanks.

You have to buy a copy of the map for each unit you want to use it on. Since you unlocked it to the 62S you can not use it on the nuvi 1250. You will need another copy of the software.

If you buy the SD card version you can move the Garmin uSD card between units and have it work. Unfortunately that does not work if you load the map yourself from DVD.
