I am planning a motorcycle trip un Europe this summer and i am looking to buy a GPS (Nuvi 550 or Zumo 220) with life time north America maps and buy europe maps for the Europe trip. Is the only way to have Europe maps is by microSD maps or are there others ways to install Europe maps on the Gps and wich one is the more convenient? Or is it better to buy a GPS with Europe maps pre-installed and buy North America maps when I will return home?

The preloaded Europe map on microSD card would be the best option.
The Europe map is available on DVD but would need to be loaded to a separate microSD card.
There are automotive models that have both NA and Europe on them but they are not recommended for motorcycle use.

why are some GPS not recommended for motorcycles?

How about the 3590?

The Nuvi 3590 is not recommended for motorcycle use because it is not waterproof and not glove friendly. The type of screen used on the Nuvi 3590 will not work with gloves.
