Buying my first GPS, A Montana 600. I know this DVD is tied to only 1 GPS, but is it tied to just 1 computer too? (I will probably upgrade my computer in less than 1 year, and want to transfer the mapping software to new computer.)

It is tied to one unit but you can install it on multiple computers.
