I just received City Navigator NA NT on DVD that I purchased from gpscity. I installed it on my MacBook and unlocked the maps for my 60CSx.
I also wanted to install the software on my PC. When I tried to do so (GPS connected) and entered the product key I got a message that "the product key is not valid for this map update". Per an earlier post I understood I could install the software on multiple computers but only unlock to one GPS. I want to use the MacBook for travel and the PC since it is connected to my printer. Why can't I do this? Thanks.

You can install the maps on multiple computers but it will only install on your one GPS unit. I am not sure what you are doing wrong for you should not get an update error. I suggest trying the process again and use the same codes you got on the other computer and or try just ignoring the unlock process. If you continue to have problems it is best to call the following number for support. 1-800-800-1020

Thanks Jordan. I sure couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong either. I have had no problem in the past. I spent three hours on the phone with Garmin support yesterday with three different representatives! They couldn't figure it out either. The last rep came up with a work around and eventually got the maps loaded on my PC. He took control of my computer and loaded several Garmin map updater programs. I think he finally decided that map updater was tripping over the lifetime updater I have for my Nuvi. I also didn't realize that a new key code and unlock code was generated after I installed the DVD software and did the one time update on my MacBook. In some ways it made me feel better that the Garmin reps were perplexed as well! They did stick with me and in the end fixed my problem.

I am happy that Garmin was able to get it working for you. Thank you for contacting them, now they know there may be an issue and can work to resolve it for future customers.

Have fun!
