I recently purchased a City Navigator Europe SD card for use with my Garmin nuvi 255w. Let me first say that the service from GPS City was terrific.

However upon opening the package I discovered that there were no installation instructions.

Do I assume that I simply insert the new card into the card slot on the side of the GPS? Do I leave it there or remove it? Will the new card have any affect on the north american maps already programmed in the GPS when I purchased it?

Many thanks for your help.

Hello David,

to install Europe via SD card just put the card in your unit and you are done. Plug and play!!

Cheers

You will need to leave the map card in the unit while in Europe.

The microSD card can be easily removed from the SD adapter by pinching it between your thumbnail and forefinger. Some microSD cards can require a bit more force to remove than others.

I just plugged in the City Navigator Europe NT into my Garmin Nuvi 255W to test it (I'm in USA at the moment). I didn't notice anything to show how to use it in Europe. Will the unit recognize where I am once I'm in Europe? Do I need to do anything in preparation for the trip?
