Does this device help me if I am lost in the woods in northern Ontario? I've heard that if your device is hooked up directly to a satellite without going through a tower then it is possible, but if you have no service it won't. I'm looking for something that if I get lost far up north it will help me find my way out without worrying about having no tower within 100 miles. Thanks for your help.
