How much of the West 24k Maps will fit on the 16 GB Micro SD cards my Garmin Zumo 665 uses?

You can only load one 4Gb map set using the included software Garmin mapinstall. You should be able to fit most of the map on a 4Gb card if not all

But the Zumo will accept a 16 gig card. Is it a limitation of the software itself? (although that makes it nice to have 12 GB free for music :-))

Sorry Greg, yes the unit will use a 16Gb card. Just the 4Gb map limitation.

I have a Garmin Montana 600. I have the Southeast 24k DVD which is larger than 4G. It is true that the MapInstall Software limits you to 4G. The Montana will accept a 32G card. The trick is to put the MicroSD card in the GPS, connect it to the computer and transfer the map to the GPS using Base Camp rather than Map Install. I could not put the whole map on the card in my computer but with it in the GPS I was able to select the whole Southeast and transfer all of it to an 8G card.
