Original question asked on Jan 16, 2012, 9:06pm
The Garmin Topo US 24K preloaded micro SD card can be used in several Garmin units (here: GPSmap 62s and nuvi 2595LMT) but it cannot be displayed on a computer? If not, what are my alternatives for planning my off-road/trails routes on my computer?
Thanks.

With the preloaded microSD card installed in the GPS, using BaseCamp will display the map on the computer and can be used to plan routes.
The BaseCamp program is a free download from Garmin and is available for PC or Mac.

Thank you, Tom - and your colleagues -, for a quick reply. It is a pleasure to have such competent professionals available to guide us through the amazing variety of Garmin products and software - each unit a new surprise, and no proper Garmin manuals/help sites for any of them.
