Not all the maps will be high resolution. Some areas do not have the same coverage as others. When downloading the birdseye images were you zoomed in to the maximum level? Is the definition on your computer screen any better than the Montana screen?

There is no way to adjust the image detail once it is on the unit. The download on the unit should look very similar to what you saw on your computer. Is there much difference?

Thank you Jordan for your prompt reply.

I compared the same area in Basecamp to the Montana display. Both were zoomed in to 0.2mi. The Montana display is definitely of a "much" poorer quality compared to the image on the computer. I am speaking here of lack of contrast or washed out image to the point that it is very difficult to read the topography. I find 0.2mi a good working zoom on the GPS as it brings out all the waypoints.

Would you clarify your comment..."When downloading......to the maximum level".

Thanks for your help
