Can't select the appropriate region when searching for address

I have the TOPO US 24K Northeast DVD and the TOPOGRAPHIC Canada DVD. I have selected map areas from each of these and placed it on a micro sd card and use in my Legend HCX. When I attempt to find an address the only regions that I can select are those in Canada (eg. Ontario, Quebec). I cannot select any region in the US.

When I place map areas from the US only (ie. none from Canada) on the card then I can select regions in the US for which to find an address.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

The TOPO US 24K Northeast maps do indeed have address look up capabilities when loaded onto a card. The TOPO Canada maps have this feature as well.

I can look up US addresses (i.e. for all the regions that are on the card) when only US maps are loaded on the card. I cannot look up any US addresses when there are Canada and US maps on the card. The only regions that I'm allowed to select in order to perform a search are the ones in Canada.

Can anyone out there give me some advice on what is wrong.

Hello Doug

I just did a test using Basecamp and it seems basecamp has the address search issues. Anyhow, you will have to turn off the other maps in order to search the USA map. You can do this in the Map set-up menu.

You are correct the new topo software now has some address search capabilities. Only problem roads are not updated and are from an older set but it should do the job.

Hi Jordan,

Turning off the Canadian maps doesn't address the problem. I can still only select regions in Canada.

Does anyone what the problem is?

What version of maps do you have. Address search is not a supported feature for Topo maps so if you have an older version it may not have that feature. Also you may need to load the maps onto two different cards
