topo and city nav fit on a 550?

would i be able to load both the city navigator 2013 dvd (NA& Mex) and this 24k NE topo dvd onto a garmin 550's internal memory?
would i be able to enable/ disable them separately through the 550's map selector?
would that reduce the available geocache/ waypoint/ picture/ memory or are they partitioned separately?

You will not be able to load both maps to the internal memory. You will most likely need an additional 8Gb memory card. You can switch between the maps in the map settings on the unit. I suggest putting all the maps on the memory card so you have your internal memory free for updates, pictures and other GPS data.
