In one of your videos, you mentioned that the new TOPO map has both trail and street routing. I am hoping you can answer some questions for me as I am trying to decide between the TOPO and City Navigator maps.

Does the TOPO map have all the streets that the City Navigator map has?
Can I route using only streets, avoiding trails?
Does the TOPO map have all the waypoints of the City Navigator map?
Does City Navigator have at least a limited topographical view in BaseCamp?

Thanks for your help. I will use my 60CSx primarily for motorcycling on streets but prefer to look at a topo map when picking my routes.

Hello

1) No the street data is better (more accurate) in City Navigator NT. Plus NT maps are update able. Roads in topo are for reference mainly. But if you need to navigate to a waypoint the maps will do that for you.
2) The only time it will use trails is if you are navigating in the back bush. Maybe under some circumstances it may take you via a trail if the trail connects two roads. I could not find an option to avoid trails.
3) Topo's do not contain POI's like city navigator. They have their own POI database of peak names, rivers, lakes, camps sites, and so on. You will not be able to find Walmart or McDonalds unless you pre-load your own waypoints (POI's) for example.
4) City Navigator has no topo information and is made for street use.

Keep in mind Topo's are made for back country use with road data as a reference. City navigator is what you need for accurate road navigation.
** For the cost of the maps we recommend purchasing a base vehicle navigator like the Nuvi 255W instead of loading city navigator on a handheld. There are many reasons why this is smarter. for example a Nuvi will be easier to enter in data, it will give voice prompts and will be easier to update the maps in the future.
