I have TOPO CANADA V2. Many maps (50K scale) are really old for example: the railroad (QNS&L) built in the 1950s between Sept-Iles and Shefferville and still in use today (Iron Ore Company) is absent from these maps.

Can you tell me if TOPO CANADA V4 got the most recent maps from the Canadian Government? 3D is good but up-to-date data is essential!

Hi, I have the 2 versions. The ONLY reason you would want to upgrade to Version 4, would be that your GPS can display the 3D maps on it, like the Oregon, Dakota or GPSMAP 62. Not much is changed otherwise. But then again, just for the 3D view...it`s worth it.

Hello Dan and Sigismondo,

There are some other changes in the maps to note. The road data is more up to date. I have noticed some new backcountry data like pipelines and powerlines in my area. They also have a a lot more POI's on the maps. Coverage will vary.

cheers

Thank You Dan and Jordan,

I also have 20K Quebec Provincial Maps which are more precise and up-to-date but only restricted to Quebec Province. They are only 2D and work with MapSource. They are sold by TOPONAV. If I need other parts of Canada, I will investigate further TOPO CANADA V4 or better version if available!
