I have a 550t and I would like to use the 24K maps. How much memory is required to load these maps? Also, whats the largest/most reliable SD card that can be used in the 550t?

Thank You

Hi Mick,
I recommend a 2Gb card for all Garmin GPS units. You don't have to worry about compatibility with that size. As for the maps sizes, they will change based on the area. I don't have the exact numbers but they would be about 1Mb per area (map sheet). You can load multiple states on the 2Gb card. I also recommend you only load the areas you need for your trip plus a buffer. If you do this the 2Gb card will always be large enough.

Cheers
Jordan
