Hi - I bought this card as an upgrade from 100k to take advantage of the detail and auto-routing feature. I have loaded it in my etrex vista hcx. Basecamp displays the card icon at the bottom of the library, but does not list 24k in the drop-down selection list. How can I transfer the 24k map to Basecamp so I can use autorouting at my pc? Is this possible or do I need additional software? Should I have bought the cd instead? If so would it upgrade my gps?

Hello,

Unfortunately there is no way to get the microSD maps into your Basecamp at this time. To get background mapping you would have to purchase the DVD version of the maps.

Hope this helps!

you can view the maps in Base camp by puting the card in a sd card reader and attaching to a USB. yopu will se all the maps but some of the routing features will not operate.

Thank you for sharing. At the time of this post that was not possible but since then Garmin added the function to read maps of a computer via your unit.
