Is the Garmin Topographic Canada DVD the same topo maps as the preloaded SD cards for garmin gps. If not which has the better topo maps.

Yes, the topo maps on DVD contain the same 100k mapping software as the preloaded memory cards.

The Topo Canada V2 maps will load onto the Nuvi 1390 Navigator.

Hi, I have a EDGE 705 that I use for monutain biking and hiking alot. Can I load these Topo maps in it? How about my Nuvi 660? Thanks in advance. Johnnydrz

The Topo maps will load into all Mapping GPS units from Garmin for Hiking, biking, geocaching, and more. The Edge 705 takes mapping so it would be compatible and the maps will load in the Nuvi 660 but you may have to play with the display settings to make it view nicely in the Nuvi 660.

i have the garmin colorado 300, which canada topo maps will support 3D view on the colorado ?

Hi Rejean,
The new version 4 of Garmin's Topo Canada has the DEM data, to show the 3D views. You would want to use this software, to see the 3D on your Colorado, or on your computer. Topo Canada v4 is the only version available at this time, as the previous version, v2, has been discontinued.

Hi,
I have installed topo V4, and it does "look" as a 3d, although as you zoom in you see the elevation lines (pretty much same as v2 would show). From reading the review it seems like v4 has 3d data EDM but it seems useless other than the nice 3d look. is there any use to the 3d data? can you get elevations of the maps at any given point?

Topo line dont change position oftwen so that data will stay the same from version to version. The only real difference is Garmin added the DEM and 3D data along with some new roads. Is there any use for 3D data. I personally so no but other would argue that they are easier to read.
