Is there a way to reduce the map topo contour lines?

Can the topo map contours be removed on my GPSMAP 62s. I am using the Topo US 24K West on Basecamp. The contours make the GPS screen too busy to see other things on the map.

Hi Terry,
You can select a lower level of detail by pushing the menu button twice, choosing the setup option, arrow over and down to Map, arrow down to and select Advanced Map Setup, arrow down to and select the Detail option, choose Less or Least.
