Having bought a gps 2595lmt for traffic the unit let me know to connect a cable.
Should this "receiver cable" be included instead of a power cable?
Somehow it is not clear to have this function working.What is really needed to make it work?

Not all units will come with that cable. Current units will have the traffic receiver built into the unit. Older versions of the nuvi 2595 require a external traffic receiver like the GTM35. What problems are you having with the unit?
