Through how much fiberglass (hull thickness) can this unit operate?

You mention in another answer that the unit should preferable be installed flat. The product name includes the term "45 deg". Does this mean I can install this on a sloped (non-horizontal) part of the inner hull (up to 45 degrees) as long as the sloped surface is flat and smooth?

The 15 and 45 degree refers to the cone angle and not the install angle.

You can adjust for a 22 degree dead rise angle. But the surface needs to be smooth.

I adjusted my previous response to include the 22 degree deadrise which was overlooked before

Airmar manufacturers these transducers. What I could find for hull thickness is this statement on the Airmar site.

"The thicker the fiberglass the more signal is lost passing through the hull. However, our in-hull transducers are designed to more than compensate for this loss."
