I am looking to mount my Nuvi 1450 on my motorcycle with a Ram clutch mount. I am looking at both a fair weather and foul weather mounting set-up, with Ram mounts. So I am looking at the GA35U cradle for good weather and the Aqua Box AQ6U for foul weather. Can you tell me:
1. Is the GA35U cradle compatible with the 202u round plate that comes with the Aqua Box mounting package?
2. Is the Aqua Box AQ6U compatible with the 238U diamond plate that comes with the Cradle mounting package?

Thanks!

Hello Stan,

The holes on both will line up but for the best reliability you need to use the RAM-B-202 for the AQ6 case and the RAM-B-238 for the GA35.

Hi Jordan ! Thanks for the cryptic answer. If the holes line up, what is the nature of the reliability issue that you refer to? That is, what is the nature of the less than "best reliability" of using the GA35U cradle with the 202U round plate, or using the AQ6U with the 238 diamond plate?

Thanks.

Stan,

You can use the RAMB238 with the AQ6 but it is not advised because the AQ6 requires the RAMB202 holes and the round plate.

Please feel free to watch our video on the box. You will see when we flip it over that the AQ6 works best with the RAMB202 plate. The RAMB238 hole pattern will line up with two of the holes but does not provide the same support. The RAMB238 could break off and will not cover any cables you pass through properly.
