I will be receiving 2 Garmin Rino 655t as a gift, preloaded with USA Topo maps. Looking for a map with bike paths/routes for Canada & U.S. Should I buy City Navigator N/A & Mexico DVD or Canada Topo DVD (to supplement the preloaded U.S.Topo) or both or something else?

What type of bike routes are you referring to? City Navigator is for driving so if you ride on paved roads then it would work for you. If you do offroad mountain biking then Topo is what you want. Bike paths are not generally marked. There is a program called Open Street map that has that data mapped by users for some areas. We do not support Open Street amp but if you need assistance with it their site has lots of info.

Thanks for the incredibly prompt reply! By way of example, in Toronto we have the Waterfront Trail - a combination of roads and "non-automobile multi use paths" going through various parks along the shore of Lake Ontario(i.e. pedestrian, roller blades and bikes). There is also the Martin Goodman Trail (strictly a non-automobile multi use path). Would these be captured in either of these Garmin maps?

I checked the Topo maps and there are some trails following the Lake but I don't know which ones you may be referring to. Is there any street or Address data you have that I can use to get close to the areas you are mentioning. I'm not familiar with Toronto and area but it looks like there are a few trails marked in Green spaces (parks).

The Topo Canada software doesn't include the all of Waterfront Trails, however the portions in highly populated areas are well detailed. The Waterfront Trails that intersect with other park trails throughout Toronto, Burlington, Mississauga, Oakville and Hamilton are well laid out as well as other park information.

So it sounds like the Topo map may be better than the City Navigator maps for bicycle paths. As for the Jordan's questions, one reference point for the Martin Goodman Trail may be Sunnyside Park, parallel to Lakeshore Drive, just east of the Humber River. Alternately, Marie Curis Park right at the border between Toronto and Mississauga. Thanks so much again!

The Topo maps will be much better for biking. There is more information in the Topo maps in the areas that you mentioned but not all path ways are included. You can supplement the maps with satellite mapping via Garmins Custom map feature or Garmin Birdseye satellite imagery subscription.

Even if you get Birdseye it would still be good to have the Topo maps.
