If I buy the Etrex 20 can I take the SD card out of my old legend and put it in the new 20 and then transfer all my geocaches from the legend and have everything that I had in the legend in the new 20 GPS??

It would be best to take the original GPX file from a pocket query or single download and copy to your new unit so you get all the hints and it is properly stored.

It is not advisable to take the geocaches off the old legend then transfer to the new one because you may not get full paperless geocaching capabilities.

Only if the maps are not locked to your old unit can they be used in the new one.

If you had to get an unlock code from Garmin.com then it would locked to one GPS unit. Topo maps are not locked but City maps are in most cases. Maps loaded by Garmin to a memory card are locked to the card and not the unit so they can be transferred from unit to unit.
