is it worth investing in the lifetime map updates for a nuvi 765T or will is soon be determined obsolete and removed from the update list? Are there still new map updates currently for the 765T? Is the memory sufficient for the latest NA 2012 Maps and are they available for the 765T?

It will not be removed from the update list but your unit is old and may stop working. The average life of a GPS is three years. That is mainly based on the lithium battery. If you find that your battery still holds a good charge and the unit operates great all the time then I would suggest an update. If you have had some issue then I would hold off and buy a Garmin unit with lifetime maps included.
