Does this unit require additional maps downloaded or would the proper maps for new brunswick canada be included?

Hello Dave,
The Garmin GPSMap 421 doesn't have East coverage of Canada. You will need to purchase a compatible Garmin Bluecharts Vision card for your area. Please let us know if you find what you need.
