What are the dimensions of this mount base. Diameter of base and height from base to top edge of the ball? Thanks,

The diameter of the base is 2 3/4 inches.
The height from the base to the top of the ball is 2 5/8 inches.

so then the mounting disk with two sided tape is no good for this unit. The disk says its 2.5" in diameter.......

The RAM disks are available in 2.5, 3, and 3.5 inch diameters.
The 2 sided adhesive tape for the disks are 2.5 inches in diameter and will work with the 3 and 3.5 inch plastic disks.
Look for the part numbers listed ending with "-3x" for 3 inch disk and "-35x" for the 3.5 inch disk.
