Is it possible to have the power cable between the chartplotter and the radar in two sections, to be disconnected at the base of the mast when unstep the mast.

You can put a quick disconnect for when you unstep the mast. You can also put another power connection on the boat for powering the radar in a different location. This is something that your marine tech can do for you when he/she installs the radar on your boat.
