Possible "fix" for low speaker volume?

Being an older person my hearing is not what it used to be. I am retiring my 2610 with an excellent outside speaker for the 855. In reading the reviews most complaints are about the low volume from the internal speaker. IS there an outside speaker that can be purchased to correct this issue?

Thanks, Gizmo (cause I have a lot of gizmo's)

Hello Gizmo,

The nuvi 855 has a FM transmitter built in so you can hear the voice through the car stereo if you like. It also has a headphone jack that you can plug an external speaker into. We have not noticed any issue with the speaker volume compared to other Garmin Units.

Cheers
Jordan

Jordan, Thanks for the reply. I want to buy the 855 this morning but would like to talk to a tech before I order it from GPS City. Do you sell the ear jack speaker? My hearing is really not that good so need all the help I can get. Also, does GPS City repair Garmin units? My 2610 is on the blink but would like to have it repaired and still buy the 855. I will be on the computer for about 1/2 hour, if you can reply let me know if I can get you on a telephone.

Thanks.
Don

Hello Gizmo,

Unfortunately we do not sell the headphones or external speakers at this time. I suggest a local electronics retailer. That way you can choose the best headset or speaker for your use.

To get the GPS unit repaired you will need to contact Garmin. We are not authorized to fix the Garmin units at this time. Most units can not be fixed only replaced and Garmin facilitates that at this time.

If you would like to talk to a sales rep, feel free to call us on our toll free line. 1.866.477.2489 or try our live chat.

Cheers
Jordan
