Sorry, I do not get what do you mean by saying that "ability to add maps" -NO..... Why THE UNIT HAS A SERIAL PORT? TO BE CONNECTED TO PC ?
I am looking for GPS wich really is able to help me not to get lost while i am fishing.That's all what I need to stay happy.

Hello Natan,

The Serial port on the Garmin eTrex H is for downloading waypoints, routes, and tracks. The unit unfortunately has no mapping memory. There are a few great units that will help you fishing. I recommend a color screen and memory card capabilities so you can take advantage of lake mapping. The Garmin eTrex Legend HCX is a great starter unit. The Garmin Oregon 450 is the easiest to use and has the most capabilities.
