I have in my car a Nüvi 750 with a the Garmin 18 pin straight connector power cable plugged in the the original Garmin cradle for this Nüvi 750.
I have now bought a new Nüvi 3590LMT for which the cradle gets powered by a Mini USB male plug.
I do not want to change the Garmin 18 pin straight connector power cable which comes from the back of the dashboard, but would like to find a adaptor with at one side a female to receive the Garmin 18 pin connector power cable, and on the other side a male Mini USB connector which I then can plug directly into the new cradle for the new Nüvi.
Does that piece exist, and where to order it? Hope you can help

The 18 pin connector provides 12V to the nuvi 7xx. You will not be able to put a USB end on without converting the power down to 5VDC for the new device. Also the nuvi 3590LMT cable is the traffic receiver. It would be best to completely remove the 18pin cable and replace it with the one that comes with the nuvi 35XX.

Thanks for that. So as the Nüvi3590LMT gets its power via a Mini USB port, is that then 5Volt only?
So it looks like I am forced to keep the old Nüvi750 in the car which came standard with it from the factory, and actually has also a built in aux speaker behind the dash for the sound of that Nüvi. So an adaptor is impossible as I understand?
If that is correct, my wife will suddenly have a nice new Garmin for her car then :-)

That is correct the mini USB is 5Vdc only. The adapter is not impossible. It will take more time and effort to make an adapter than just remove the old cable and add the new one.
