Hello,
I want to upload a hiking trail map to my device. I've used Google Earth and overlayed
my map and then saved it to the Garmin Custom Maps folder on the GPS. Then
when I disconnect and turn the GPS back on I get the message that Garmin
Custom Maps does not support lat/lon Quads. The map file is an .kmz file so
I'm not sure what I need to do in order to have it displayed. The tutorials
I've seen would suggest once you save to the Custom Maps folder it should be
a simple procedure of choosing the file and off you go. Your help here would
be appreciated. Thanks.

Wib

I have never seen the error "Garmin Custom Maps does not support lat/lon Quads". I am unsure what they are referring to. I have not done the process since it was announced. I have seen people doing it with larger files but I prefer using 1024by1024 images. Are yours that size or smaller? Are you geo-referencing a JPEG file or another type? Do you have multiple JPEGs in one KMZ file?
