Hey,

I bought GPS18x 5Hz and GPS18x LVC each. It seems that 5HZ has 5 significant bits after decimal point and LVC only has 4. Does this mean they have different accuracy. Besides, the output has a big drift even when GPS receiver is stationary. Is there any posibility to deal with this? BTW, I don't turn on WAAS mode, since I will use it not only in North America.

Thanks,
Jianxun

Hello Jianxun,

If possible it is best to turn WAAS on to reduce the drift. If you have WAAS on in Europe the unit will grab the EGNOS corrections also. I am not too sure about MSAS in Asia.

Both units have the same accuracy. I am unsure why one has more decimal places than the other. I would suggest giving Garmin a quick call @ 1-800-800-1020 They may be able to clear up your issues a little better. Please let me know if you solve your questions.

Cheers
