Just found out that my Tempe gets stuck readings, mainly the min/max Temps over 24 hours. After contacting support they told me that its a known issue with early units. They're sending me a new unit, but I thought I would post here to let the others that pre-ordered units from GPSCity to contact Garmin support. Perhaps GPSCity could email the people who pre-ordered?

Thank you for sharing. That is not an issue brought to our attention by Garmin so every GPS may not be effected. I would assume the min/max temperature freezing would be the GPS and not the tempe. I could be mistaken. If any others have issues we will be sure to get them in contact with the correct people to get the problems resolved.

Have you received the new unit?

Is fixed the problem in these new series?

Please keep us informed.
Thanks!

vendors should be properly informed of what they are selling and problems.

I bought the sensor in a store (London) they informed me by mail that my sensor could be affected by the problem of max / min temperature. These are TRUE professionals who care for clients

This information has not been shared with us by Garmin and when I called they did not know of the problem. So far I have not had any returns of ones we sold in Canada with this issue.

@Walter- If Garmin verifies it is an issue with units we sell in North America we will notify our customers. We need to verify the problem in our local market before pulling the trigger

Jordan,
I am also having this issue & getting no where with Garmin. I purchased it from your company July 18th 2012.

Others as above have a replacement that solved the problem. I think Garmin is not being forthright in admitting it's an issue & having all there Support staff on the same page when customers call..
These are the responses I got from Garmin...
Date Nov27.. Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

Unfortuneatly, we are not able to offer a replacement. This is a known issue and replacing the device will not correct the issue. The issue is currently being investigated.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

With Best Regards,

Thanks you for your response.

But this is not a software issue.
This issue is in the TEMPE unit. I have been reading on forums in particular Advrider, a number of early purchasers of the Tempe had the same issue & on getting a replacement from Garmin the issue is resolved. It seems the first batch has this issue!

How can I get a replacement?

Thanks

In my experience the problem would be with the firmware of the GPS unit and not the Tempe for the GPS unit should be doing all the logging and not the Tempe. I am not 100% sure because that type of information is not shared with us. I can only assume based on engineering experience and how I would of designed the product. We will have to wait to see what Garmin comes up with as a solution. Replacing your Tempe at this time will not fix the issue but we can return the product from you until you feel comfortable with the fix. You can call our sales team or fill out the online RMA form.

Well it has taken me many emails & phone calls but I finally got someone at Garmin that has knowledge about the TEMPE units giving Min/Max readings that DON'T change. It is NOT a Software issue but faulty Tempe unit, this I also confirmed with another person who purchased only recently.
I was told to contact Raytech in Lava Qc for a warranty. But if your in the USA they send you a replacement, no charge on return of the bad unit. So living in Canada you get to pay..pay..pay!
