I know it says universal so this is likely a dumb question but I wanted to make sure it hold the ipad 2 without a problem. I will be using it on very rough roads....

The X-Grip II does not work with the regular iPad. It only works with the iPad mini.

If you need to mount an iPad 1 or higher generation with an X-Grip, please look at the X-Grip III RAM-HOL-UN9U, and the bundles that come the X-Grip III. Simply search for "UN9" on our website.

You may want one of our other solutions. Do you use a case on the iPad?
