Will this extension cable also work with Rand McNally RVND7720? I purchased the traffic receiver kit, but the end came off of the extension cable. It looks like a similar plug and design? I cannot get a response from Rand.

That is a tough question that I can not be 100 % accurate on because we do not sell or support the Randy McNally GPS systems. Based on the pictures and documentation it looks like the same antenna. However they do not provide enough information to verify. In most cases you will not need the traffic antenna. Are you have reception problems where sometimes you get a signal and sometimes you don't? If you never get a signal your traffic cable may be faulty and not the antenna.

I do not need it for my Garmin units, but the Rand GPS does not tell you how strong the signal is. All in all, the traffic function on Garmin is far superior. Wish they had a better product for RV's. Thank you, I may just order one from you to try!

Have you seen the new dezl 760 RV and trucking GPS unit?

What features do you like in the Randy McNally device?

Yes I have seen it. Believe me, I would much rather have bought the Garmin. The Garmin unit seems like it is built for truckers and sold to RV'ers as an add on. the Rand is built specifically for the RV. I like the real time weather display, the audible speed warning, propane restrictions based on your unit (tunnels and such) and the RV customizable, specific checklists. I dislike the traffic display and the inability to change the speed limit when it is wrong. You can send the error to Rand for future update, but not on your display.
