Hello Phil,

It is not recommended to install this on a motorcycle. However people have done so in the past.

For a better motorcycle option here is a link to the units made for that.

You've probably already moved on from this question, but...
I have mounted my nuvi 350 to my bike for years, without problems. I just bought the 1390T, and plan to do the same thing.

Buy the RAM holder (Garmin nuvi 1300 Series Cradle RAM-HOL-GA34U). You will need a matching plate, too (Aluminum Diamond mini Plate with 1 inch Ball).

Then add whatever mount you want to the bike. For handlebar, I would suggest a simple u-bolt ball (RAM Mount Aluminum Stainless Steel U-Bolt Motorcycle Mount Base with 1 inch Ball).

Add an arm that suits you, and you are all set.

Sounds complicated, but its not. Pretty cheap, too, once you add it up.

Oh, also ... you can invest in a RAM Aqua-box for rain if you want. Its a little bulky looking for my taste, I just pop mine out of the cradle when it starts to rain and slip into a pocket.
