Hello, I'm in the process of buying a used Skeeter Bast boat that is being supplied with a brand new Elite 5. My question is, I primarily fish in Virginia and Texas. Would the lakes in those 2 states be included on the 2GB Navionics Gold chip?

Hello Dave,

The Navionics Gold card we carry will cover the coastal areas of those states but not inland lakes. What you need is called HOTMaps by Navionics. We will be selling them very soon.

Cheers

I don't have a reply but a question. I fish Lake Huron. Does the preload SD card cover Lake Huron contour lines or do I have to buy another card?

Hello oViking,

The maps of lake Huron come preloaded on this unit or on the Navionics Gold card for Canada we sell.

Hello Ross,

Not sure what you are referring to. XG2?

Do you mean this card
http://www.gpscity.com/navionics-gold-microsd-canada-coastal-waters-and-se-alaska.html

If so it is the same data.

Cheers

Hi, does this unit also work in auto? Is it loaded with map of Lake of the Woods, Ontario? Thank you!

Hello Kurt,

I just checked a model I have handy and it has partial coverage of the Lake of the woods. USA side only. I also noticed only nav aids and no depth contours on that lake.

Cheers

So then if I am fishing the inland lakes of the Kawarthas then I will also need the Hotmaps Platinum SD card as well?

Hello Ron,

It doesn't look like there are charts available for your lake at this time.

The Garmin cards also don't cover your Kawartha lakes. At this time it is best to get a Garmin 421S or similar and run Garmin topo maps on it. You will get a shore outline that may be of some help.

Cheers

Hello Ron,

I just saw another post on a different forum page about the same region but they gave a little more info. The two lakes in that region they mentioned (Sturgeon and Pigeon) are covered in High definition on the Navionics Hotmaps platinum card.

I have a Lowrance Elite 5 Gold. I believe the card I need is Msd/hmpt-c6. Can you double check that before I order it. Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if there is coverage for coastal newfoundland? If not is there software available for this area?
Thanks,
Rob.

I have the elite 5 and was wondering do I need a special adapter to make the card fit? The sd card is too wide to fit the card slot.

Hi Ray,
You will need the microSD size of card, which should be included with that SD card. The SD card is the adapter, and the microSD card is inside. At the base of the SD card there should be a ridge that you can grab and pull out the microSD card.
Thanks!

I purchased a Elite 5 yesterday. The gentlman I bought if off showed me the difference of the base map that it had, and the difference a chip made for detail. I have installed it in my boat, but cannot get off the base map. How do I get on the detailed chip I purchased.
