will it work on all Nuvi's and I hear that I need to have 2010 mapping installed first to get it to work. Is this correct?

Hey Art,
This lifetime update is compatible with all of the versions of maps preloaded on the Garmin Nuvi series. If you have a Garmin Nuvi from a few years ago, loaded with City Navigator North America v8, this lifetime update will bring your maps up to 2010 accuracy.
All Garmin Nuvi units are compatible with this update, you do not need to have 2010 version maps already loaded.

Hello Larry,

The lifetime updates subscription comes to you in bubble wrap plastic, inside there is a card with a code printed on the reverse side. This code is to be activated on "www.garmin.com" under your "mydashboard" section. You will see a field where it says "unlock maps". This is where the code you are provided is entered.
