can you make trail/ route on this unit? for example: using with atv, and you want to log in the trail that you have taken and want to save it on the gps for future usage. i'm not sure if this would be the same as back tracking, which i beleive this is on the nivi550?

Hello Rod,

The Nuvi 550 can hold one track at a time and 10 routes. For your use I would recommend a Handheld such as the GPSMap 60csx or the Oregon 450. Both units can hold multiple tracks and routes and handle the data much better.

cheers

Hello Rod,

You wont be able to store the data you want on the memory card for later recall. Just maps and pictures mainly. The handhelds like the Oregon are more all around. They can do street and back-country navigation. Maps are purchased separately with the Handhelds.

Cheers
Jordan
