Hello Daniel,

Please call for assistance. The types of units, transducers, and position of the sensors needs to be known. It may not be possible depending on the setup. Here is the tech support phone number 1-800-800-1020

If you are running a NMEA 2000 buss there should be no data collision problems. The big issue is, does your current unit support two transducers and where are they mounted? If you have a Garmin GPSMap 7XX series then you can hook more than one transducer up at a time as long as they are a intelliducer (nmea2000 based transducer)

I have mentionned two seperate units a GPSMAP 520S and possibily a 740S .. The transducer would be installed at each end of the transom (starboard and port sides)

Hello Daniel,

If you are having interference between the two please call 1-800-800-1020. What interference have you noticed? Have you tried one forward facing and the other facing backwards? Also you may want to use a intelliducer with the 740S.

If one unit handles the sounding I don't see an issue with interference because the one unit will control when the sounders activates. You will need to run a NMEA 2000 buss with multiple intelliducers. Unfortunately the GPSMap 520S you mentioned in your last post is not NMEA 2000 compatible.

Those units are not installed yet.. I bought a refurbished 520S that comes with a transducer.. This 520s will be my backup unit for safety reasons ,, my main unit will be the 740s . The 520s will be the main fishfinder unit and the 740 for chart plotter. Beacause of the small diffence in price between the 740 & 740S I would installed the transducer of the 740s. BUT that is my plan.. and before I go ahead and do so.. I want to know if you see any problem or conflict with what I proposed to do. Each unit will have it's own transducer. NEMA 2000 for the 740 and regular one for the 520s.

If the two units operate at the same time with their own transducer there is a possibility that one will pick up the sounding of the other. If you run two intelliducers off the 720S then no I don't see an issue. If you had a second NMEA2000 compatible device you would be better off. I would return the 520s and get the 521s (NMEA 2000) as a back up.

I also suggest calling the tech help number for additional assistance @ 1-800-800-1020

If one is a backup and is not running while the other is ON then no problems.
