I just received my new 3790LMT from GPScity. Great unit!

I have read where many consider the TTN Clear Channel traffic to be superior to Navteq. Is the 3790's GTM35 receiver compatible with TTN? I don't see it listed on the Garmin traffic subscription page.

Thanks for any info.

Hello William,

The two services are very similar in reliability and coverage. The Garmin is only compatible with their accessories. Right now it looks like it just supports Navteq.

Just a follow up - I can confirm that the 3790LMT IS compatible with TTN Clear Channel traffic. I have subscribed through Garmin and it works flawlessly on my unit. I much prefer TTN traffic, as it contains no ads and provides much better coverage in my area.

Hello William,

We plugged in a Clear Channel receiver and the unit gave us a un-compatibility error. What receiver do you have? To ensure compatibility we recommend the Garmin accessories.

Hi Jordan,
I have the 3790LMT, purchased from you. Could it be that TTN only works in the US? I am in Southern California. I am using the receiver included with the 3790LMT, the GTM-35. I know of at least one other 3790 owner in my area that uses TTN.
