The rebate information states that it is for the 2011 version of this item. On the product Overview page under Product Details it lists several things one being Model: 010-C1050-00
Announced: June 30, 2010
and First Shipped: July 20, 2010
If this is the 2011 version, how can it be first shipped last year? Or is this something else?

Hi Rob,

Garmin's version numbering will always be the next year. For example, the next version of City Navigator coming out by March or April will be City Navigator 2012. 2011 versions were brought out last year.
