Great price on the Garmin Nuvi 225W, so I'm looking for "the catch". Does this unit come with the latest, most current mapset? Can you tell me what verison of City Navigator comes with this unit? Thanks!

Hello Jeff,
The Nuvi 255W comes with one free update in the first 60 days to make sure it has the latest map set for you. The Nuvi 255W from GPS City is the same unit you buy everywhere else. Have a good year!

If you purchased it from us the instructions are on the back of the card.

1) You need to register your unit.
2) you need to register the numaps update at the site printed on the back of the card.
3) Once activated, the website should guide you step by step.

If you are not very good with computers you can give Garmin a call to have them walk you through. 1-800-800-1020

When you register you unit with Garmin there will be a download link provided in your account.

Hello,

You have to do the free updates within 60 days of purchasing from GPS City. If the 60 days have expired you will need a numaps lifetime update subscription from GPS City.

I bought a Nuvi 255W in San Diego Dec 2009. Lost the box and instructions. 1) Will the unit work in Great Britain? 2) How do I buy upgrades and download them? Do I need special usb cable or memory card to insert in side slot?

All you need to do is buy the mapping card from GPS City.

Card plugs into the unit.
