I am considering purchasing this GPS, does it come with useable maps that are loaded (or with it) to use out of the box, or does it mean the purchase of "more stuff"? I will be using it for geocaching and on my motorcycle throughout BC and the rest of Canada.

I have a Nuvi 550 that I use in the car and on the M/C (and I love it), but want something that is easier to use in hand.

Hello Katherine,

With handhelds mapping is generally sold separately. With the GPSMap 60CSX you will need to buy the topo Maps on the side. What is loaded is a very basic base map that contains highways and continental outlines. However when you buy the topo maps you can load them onto your Nuvi 550 also. If they were preloaded in the unit you would have been able too. So that is a plus!!
